WinstonStreet.com

WinstonStreet.com is essentially a YouTube like site that specializes in the arts. We built WinstonStreet.com for a post graduate student at NYU. This project was instrumental in her successful completion of her post graduate thesis.
WinstonStreet.com uses what we refer to as a passive theme. The use of the passive theme allows the rich media "the videos/images" to take center stage in the site presentation.
WinstonStreet uses atypical colors and fonts as well as plenty of white space (negative space) to isolate and focus the viewer's eye on the content that is being displayed. This use of whitespace also can give the viewer a sense of openness that is helpful in keeping the viewer's attention structured and focused. By using whitespace and an open design the viewer is less inclined to be overcome by all of the content. This prevents viewers from becoming frustrated and leaving.
All in all the WinstonStreet.com project was a success in terms of design, however it has not been modified in any way after our client demonstrated it to her school and subsequently graduated. It is unfortunate too since we believe that this project has a great deal of potential.
